How do you build safety when the world feels overwhelming?
How do you find connection when it feels like there’s no one there?
Join Imogen Ragone and Shay Seaborne, CPTSD, for a 90-minute interactive workshop exploring how safe connection fosters well-being. Learn the basics of your nervous system and what helps it feel safer. Discover how to cultivate internal and external environments of safety using principles of BodyIntelligence and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB).
This experiential workshop focuses on the idea that healing is relational and environmental, and that safe connections are necessities, not luxuries.
Participants will explore practical ways to build connection, starting with small steps to create safety within themselves and expanding to create supportive relationships and communities.
Whether you’re just beginning to explore connection or looking to deepen your understanding of safety, we’ll walk through it together. You’ll leave the workshop with accessible tools and insights—and more hope.

Imogen and Shay
Imogen and Shay have been working together for over seven years, starting when Shay first came to Imogen as a client. Over time, as Shay studied neurobiology and neuroscience to help them understand and resolve PTSD, they increasingly understood that BodyIntelligence provides a very neuropositive approach and practice – so helpful it is one of their core resources in helping them rebuild and regulate their own nervous system.
Shay and Imogen have been collaborating for over three years to offer courses, workshops and programs for people dealing with trauma or stress. In this collaboration Shay’s experience as a trauma survivor and their understanding of the neuroscience relating to trauma is paired with practical tools and concepts from the Alexander Technique and Imogen’s BodyIntelligence work.
Imogen Ragone, M.AmSAT (She/Her) has been a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique since 2006, and a student of the work for well over 20 years. She initially came to Alexander Technique to help her with chronic neck and shoulder pain and tension. It did – and gave her MUCH more than she ever imagined. Imogen has now developed her own unique approach, BodyIntelligence, that offers a path to embodied mindfulness that is gentle and non-coercive. This means it is more accessible and effective when you are feeling stressed or anxious, and makes it especially valuable to traumatized people. Imogen was born and raised in England, and has lived in the US now for over 30 years. She has been successfully working with clients online, both individually and in groups, since 2014.

Shay Seaborne, CPTSD (They/Them) is a survivor of developmental trauma and medical trauma, and has Complex PTSD (CPTSD). Out of necessity they have studied and learned about the neurobiology of fear, trauma, and PTSD for over seven years. Shay writes, speaks, and makes art to convey their experiences as well as their understanding of the neurobiology of fear, trauma theory, and principles of trauma recovery. Shay wishes everyone could recognize PTSD is not a mental health problem, but a neurophysiological condition rooted in dysregulation. Our mainstream culture is neuro-negative, and we need to understand we can heal ourselves and each other through awareness, understanding, and safe connection.
